In a recent poll, 71% of parents say that their kids have encountered a problem online – such as bad language, sexual images, or malicious advertising. And yet, most parents aren’t keeping their kids from going online, though they are doing something to monitor their internet use. The ‘net is such a great tool, especially for kids in school doing research, so I don’t think keeping them away from it is the answer. But I do think that kids should be kept away form social networking sites, where sexual predators hang out waiting for young victims.
