Just imagine: you head to your local ATM and withdraw some cash. But that’s not all. While you’re there you renew your driver’s license, pay your phone bill, and purchase a gift card for Grandma May. Multi-tasking ATMs seem to be coming in the near future, according to the chief executive of a major ATM production company. Hopefully, they’ll come in groups of three or four- who wants to wait in line just to withdraw a twenty while someone is gift shopping?

Hal officially is the most Human like AI, and you can Chat with your computer with free software download. Hal was the winner of the 17th annual competition of what computer was the most human like. Zabaware’s Ultra Hal software won the “most human†computer of the year in the 17th annual Loebner Prize Competition for Artificial Intelligence (AI). The contest was held in New York City hosted by philanthropist Hugh Loebner.
The Loebner Prize is an annual competition where software programs attempt to convince human judges that they are actually people. The format of the competition is called a Turing Test. In a Turing Test a judge talks with 2 “entities†simultaneously through a text-based instant messaging system. One entity is a human and the other is a computer. It is up to the judge to decide which is which by typing questions to both entities and receiving answers.
Zabaware is an Erie, Pennsylvania based company that specializes in artificial intelligence technology. The company’s mission “giving your computer the power of thought†once considered a futuristic pipe dream is becoming a 2007 reality.
It is one thing to talk to your computer it is quite another to have a conversation where you are exchanging information and the computer learns and utilizes the information in the future. Zabaware’s Ultra Hal technology and its associated brain are currently doing just that. The software can give your computer a personality using AI technology, speech recognition technology, and real-time animation. It can be used as an entertainment program, a companion, or an office assistant. It learns from conversations and evolves and improves the more it talks with a person. In addition to chat it can perform useful functions such as remembering and reminding of appointments, keeping an address book, dialing phone numbers, launching program, and more.

It seems 3D printers are the wave of the future. These machines allow the user to download plans and then – within hours – produces a 3D object. Industrial design shops have been using these machines for decades, but it seems there will come a day when they will be as standard in homes as your basic inkjet.
Three-dimensional printers, often called rapid prototypers, assemble objects out of an array of specks of material, just as traditional printers create images out of dots of ink or toner. They build models in a stack of very thin layers, each created by a liquid or powdered plastic that can be hardened in small spots by precisely applied heat, light or chemicals.
Desktop Factory wants to be one of the first companies to deliver a 3D printer for home use, and plans to start selling its first model later this year for $4,995.

Codango Labs just released a new ASP.NET application review of XSE shopping cart. They took XSE for a whirl around the virtual store and found that its extensive features and excellent technical support made it a solid ecommerce app. They did say that its one squeaky wheel is its UI, but nevertheless, it’s a shopping cart that’s ready to roll.
