Dell will be delaying their annual report due to some accounting finding a possible “misconduct.” The Securities and Exchange Commission is also looking into Dell’s accounting practices over the last several years, poking around the company’s methods for recognizing revenue and reserve accounts, among other things.
It’s not known specifically what type of accounting practices are at issue in the investigation, but last September Dell said it might have improperly recorded its financial position concerning “accruals, reserves and other balance sheet items.” Accruals are items on a balance sheet for which a company hasn’t yet distributed or acquired cash, such as accounts receivable or accounts payable.

Intel on Wednesday laid out its road map for the next year or so, including details about Penryn, its 45nm chip due later this year, as well as the next generation beyond that.
The company will begin producing its Penryn chip in the second half of this year, officials said, featuring enhancements to the Intel Core microarchitecture as well as 45nm process technology with a hafnium-based high-K, metal gate transistor design, which offers better insulation and results in higher performance and more energy efficiency.

When my grandfather died a few months ago, I admired his foresight. Though
he had lived an astonishing 96 years, he had made funeral arrangements some
thirty years ago! The family didn’t need to worry about funeral insurance or any
other post-life expenses. I am just happy he lived a long life, remained
mentally sharp until the end, and had the foresight to not leave his family
any burden.

Not really tech news, kind of. Anyways I found this to be really interesting. Some climates may disappear from Earth entirely, not just from their current locations, while new climates could develop if the planet continues to warm, a study says. Such changes would endanger some plants and animals while providing new opportunities for others, said John W. Williams, an assistant professor of geography at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

When parents think of video games, they automatically think that they are something bad. Studies have proven that some video games are actually good though.
